In her free time, Leigh is an Amateur Field Trial handler for her beloved Labrador Retrievers. Leigh plays a significant role in training, handling and owning Champion Labradors. Leigh is firmly embedded in the retriever field trial world, achieving top honors in national level competition. In 2023 her dog Beaver Runs Raymond for Sheriff won the National Amateur Retriever Championship. Raymond is the second dog ever to bring this title to Georgia.
